-transit infrastructure
-localized culture
-an industry

Today I spent two hours tracking down a bug. It was caused by Microsoft Excel’s decades-old decision to be compatible with a Lotus 1-2-3 bug, and treat 1900 as a leap year, even though it wasn’t. This is how programmers spend their time.
