Muh. Up nice and early to go in to work and be ready for whatever fallout there is from the weekend’s server move. *Yawn* time to go shower.

via Twitter Web Client

Woah! OS X 10.5.4? That was quick. And it fixes that problem with Spaces where it kept switching to Finder windows. Cover me - I’m going in!

via Twitter Web Client

Just heard my very own bald head mentioned by @leolaporte in @chrismarquardt’s segment on The Tech Guy. That’s my five seconds of fame gone!

via Twitter Web Client

Discovered new deli/cafe. Greek sausage & halloumi cheese panini. Num num. And the coffee’s good. To think I nearly defaulted to Starbucks!

via Twitter Web Client

Time for another weekly review that’s a week overdue. Of course, if I set out consciously to do fortnightly reviews, they’d end up monthly.

via Twitter Web Client

Ahh, a nice quiet evening learning a bit more about web design and doing my first bit of playing with the Flickr API. Bedtime now, I reckon.

via Twitter Web Client

Hmm. Is there any way of displaying the _time_ of a particular tweet in @Twitterrific? I’ve poked around some, but I can’t seem to find one

via Twitter Web Client

Lunch with mum & dad, aunt & uncle and as-yet-unspecified collection of cousins & offspring. Then, sadly, off to work to test a server move

via Twitter Web Client

Bah. Arrived at work on time to test newly-moved servers. Servers here, but network such a mess I won’t be needed for at least half an hour.

via Twitter Web Client

On the plus side, arrived on my pushbike after its first ride this year. Was only a couple of miles, but I now feel completely supercharged.

via Twitter Web Client

Multi-culture all-you-can-eat buffet. Pizza with chicken tikka and spring rolls, with a side of guacamole. Strange yet surprisingly pleasant

via Twitter Web Client

Had very good meal in Greek restaurant in Chepstow last night. Didn’t get to practice my Greek, though. We reckon the waitress was Polish.

via Twitter Web Client

@boagworld as a newbie in web design, I’m rapidly finding that half the text in every textbook is the phrase ‘except in Internet Explorer.’

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

@boagworld curses. Really enjoyed last week’s show, by the way.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

Conversation at work: Stu: You want a Russian mail-order bride. They treat their husbands like kings. Me: Yes, just ask the King of Russia.

via Twitter Web Client

Argh! Just spent far longer than I should writing a Greek assignment. I really should not, not, not leave these things to the last minute.

via Twitter Web Client

Fun run event just started playing Rick Astley at finish line. Several people have now started another lap.

via Twitter Web Client

Lightroom 2 beta’s “import from catalog” “copy photos” option must use a definition of the word “copy” that I haven’t previously encountered

via Twitter Web Client

@Dr_of_Love There is indeed a humour police who shun the quoting of Monty Python for just that reason. It’s the http://xkcd.com fanbase/fora

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Dan_Christensen

@Tailwind Come, join us, do not be afraid. Don’t miss Broadcasting House (9am tomorrow.) Bear in mind some of the best stuff is podcast, too

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bob_dave

Selecting lenses for tomorrow’s shoot (sound like a professional, don’t I? What I mean is, deciding whether to bother with the 50mm or not.)

via Twitter Web Client

@Phooto From the figures I can see, Doctor Who gets double the viewers. I propose they schedule the football around Dr. Who, not vice versa!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Phooto

Argh! The BBC have moved Doctor Who again. Is it really so difficult to make a television programme that airs at the same time every week?

via Twitter Web Client

Vacuuming the bedroom to the beat of Pulp’s Disco 2000. The dullest of dull household chores requires the bounciest of bouncy music, I find

via Twitter Web Client

Off to brave the weather, find some lunch, and do this term’s written assignment for my Greek course. Hope it goes better than the oral did.

via Twitter Web Client

Oh, Crystal Reports. Frankly, I’d have paid extra for a “Really Professional” edition of Visual Studio that _didn’t_ include this buggy crud

via Twitter Web Client

@Twitterrific Speaking of things that are hard in the current version, will you be making it easier to click on tweeted links? It’s fiddly!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Twitterrific

@ryanCoates I know what you mean about push. I found the SMS delivery quite variable though, and like the easier interface of a good client.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ryandcoates

I like the idea of Mobile Me. Then again, I like the _idea_ of .Mac, but it doesn’t actually bloody work, does it? Useless damn iDisk sync.

via Twitter Web Client

@davidpatrick Yowzer! Everyone okay? Oh, and social tip: now is not the time for “getting along like a house on fire” jokes with neighbours.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to davidpatrick

@boagworld How would you introduce all those typos, working on your own? You clearly need the manual re-typing only a publisher can provide.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

Lightroom 2 Beta is sometimes so unresponsive I suspect it’s calling Adobe up in the background and asking what to do when I move sliders…

via Twitter Web Client

@ryanCoates PS: Take heart, it’s because of people like you begging to buy extra SMS from them that they’ve got any business model at all :)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ryandcoates

@ryanCoates Can’t you get a client for your mobile? They’re generally more reliable than the SMS service anyway. Personally, I use twibble.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ryandcoates

@boagworld What it means? In my experience, it normally means pain. Pain, inflicted by a petite woman with surprisingly strong thumb muscles

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

@DaveHamilton odd, isn’t it? Only happens on my MacBook, not my iMac, I figured it was to do with stopping network/closing lid on busy Mail.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to DaveHamilton

Oh, for the love of MIke. Whom do i have to sleep with to get twitter.com’s “remember me” feature to remember me? Feeling rejected *sigh*.

via Twitter Web Client

Convinced BBC meteorological supercomputer is just looking out the window for its data while playing WoW with other 99% of mighty intellect.

via Twitter Web Client

@boagworld How about “Clients are Stupid, and Everybody Lies”?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

Time to go home for an hour’s nap before heading back out for a Thea Gilmore gig. Yes, I’m elderly. Stipulated.

via Twitter Web Client

Hmm. Mopey support band doing mopey acoustic cover of Green Day’s Basket Case. Next, please, before I slit my wrists.

via Twitter Web Client

@bexxi Hmm, Blur used a fair chunk of slang in their lyrics, but I can’t think of any good examples off the top of my head.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bexxi

@spamvictim 10.5.3, perchance? I had an actual proper kernel panic about a week after the latest upgrade. That was the first one in a year

via Twitter Web Client in reply to grant_matthews_

Hmm. “Firefox down”?

via Twitter Web Client

Force-field technology will be invented not by the military, but by a lone inventor pissed off with cleaning up after his morning grapefruit

via Twitter Web Client

@WilHarris did it get any more interesting after the first half-hour of ‘This week in corporate America and share dealing?’

via Twitter Web Client in reply to WilHarris

Just went out to take sedate photos of water, and instead ran across a Fire Brigade multiple-team exercise. Well, I got my photos of water!

via Twitter Web Client

A few pictures of firemen, for anyone who’s interested: http://tinyurl.com/3tk7ru A couple of them came out pretty well

via Twitter Web Client

Right. Time to practise my Greek for Tuesday’s test. Then I can start processing today’s photos.

via Twitter Web Client

Just got some excellent photos of that yellow “crime scene” tape. Moved along voluntarily before they pulled the body from the river, though

via Twitter Web Client

In Oppo, playing with ND filters while I wait for my food to arrive. Will post pics later if they’re any good.

via Twitter Web Client

A few photos from today up in the usual place (http://tinyurl.com/5jmkrn) including one that scared Kavey so much she hid behind the sofa :)

via Twitter Web Client

So ShoZu seems to work pretty, well, then. There may be the occasional picture post from now on ;)

via Twitter Web Client

Eeep. Less than a week to the first Greek test of the term (dialogue practice, really.) Time to start swotting up on travel and transport.

via Twitter Web Client

@bexxi I’m doing evening classes at Bristol university, and it’s because ο πατέρας μου μένει στην Κρήτη (my Dad lives in Crete!)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bexxi

@Artoo_UK Yay! That’s the first birth notification I’ve had through Twitter :)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to therutharnold

Are my headphones broken, or is it the stereo on the latest TWiT?

via Twitter Web Client

“The sunshine even makes Reading look pretty.” We turned a corner. “Oh. No it doesn’t.”

via Twitter Web Client

Rolling my sleeves up. Time to get around to cleaning out the fishtank. Flowers will be glad of the water, anyway.

via Twitter Web Client

@jacintuk Oh yes, t’is just as sharp as you said it would be :)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jacintuk

@hotdogsladies Pah, the British Amazon store is keeping a stiff upper lip.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to hotdogsladies

Every time I want to go to the Jacobs photographic website, I type jacobs.co.uk by mistake and am presented with Cream Cracker recipe ideas.

via Twitter Web Client

Holy god, how did I get that much crap on my mirror and prism? Did a seagull fly in the last time I changed lenses?

via Twitter Web Client

@spamvictim I found an espresso machine in a charity shop for £1 last year, and have been highly caffeinated ever since :)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to grant_matthews_

@boagworld, listening to 119 & 120 back to back. Great content, but pick a bloody volume level, man!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

@Ihnatko Isn’t it difficult to hear them over the sounds of your own uncontrollable mirth?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Ihnatko

So, like, what happens if I put an EF lens on my EF-S EOS 400D? Does the universe explode, or does it Just Work[tm]?

via Twitter Web Client

Think I had a deeper relationship with music before I could listen to any of my albums anywhere and anywhen.

via Cloudhopper

So, @chrismarquardt is sorted — anyone else need an Evernote invite? Send me an email address if so…

via Twitter Web Client

@boagworld Tip: when breaking up longer tasks, stop right in the middle, not at a “natural” break. Then it’s much easier to pick it back up.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to boagworld

Playing “top 200 most played” playlist. Sudden desire to cover Northern Star, but not sure world is ready for my Courtney Love impression.

via Twitter Web Client

Hmm. Just had my first kernel panic in more than a year. What have Apple done in 10.5.3?

via Twitter Web Client

Don’t lead me further astray, @jacintuk, it’s bad enough you made me buy this lens…

via Cloudhopper

Just won £50 on Bonus Ball lottery syndicate at work. Think I might buy that Canon 50mm…

via Twitter Web Client

Gah. First day back at work. This is going to be a long day of playing catch-up

via Twitter Web Client

7dayshop are doing a circular polarising filter for £4.69. What are the dangers of cheap polarisers?
