I’m only cooking these for dinner because I thought they were so pretty when I saw them in Chandos deli earlier :) http://flic.kr/p/9hFCNs

@pilky Buying now (such is the retail danger of the Kindle!)

@pilky Thanks! Will check it out right now.

@ahnlak These days most of my optimisations involve shouting hints at Oracle loud enough that it actually uses the obvious fscking index :(

via Echofon in reply to ahnlak

@ahnlak Nah. Garbage collectors, like free(), are just for people who haven’t bought enough memory yet :)

via Echofon in reply to ahnlak

@ahnlak I personally embrace our new alien overlords, especially now I’ve not had to remember to null-terminate a string for ten years.

via Echofon in reply to ahnlak

@ahnlak You saw a couple, but they’re quite old now. I didn’t have a project in mind back then, so I didn’t have enough impetus to learn…

Recommendations for a Cocoa programming book (target: desktop Mac app dev.) for a decent programmer with no Objective C experience, anyone?

@meemalee Not so much in the show. Very different. Both good, though.

via Echofon in reply to meemalee

@meemalee Rigg and Thorson, primarily :)

@Bristol_flickL Too knackered. Will pop along soon, though.

@meemalee Any random escapist stuff, really. It’s my weakness. Fringe. NCIS. Often old stuff: Avengers, Blake’s 7.

via Echofon in reply to meemalee

@meemalee Ooops. That last tweet was meant to be from me. Sorry. Keyboard error.

via Echofon in reply to meemalee

@meemalee Actually, Micmacs is one of the other few I’ve seen. Have lovefilm, but have a real problem getting around to watching features.

via Echofon in reply to meemalee

@meemalee It’s very good, isn’t it? One of the few films I’ve watched in the last few years

Having my own little wine and cheese party. Okay, it’s mostly a wine party. http://twitpic.com/3yrpf6

@tsunimee Photographers go mad for the blurriness. Called “bokeh”: http://en.wikipedia.org/…

via Echofon in reply to tsunimee

@tsunimee Mmm. Depth of field. Larger lens aperture = less depth of field = little slice of scene in focus, rest out of focus.

Coding. Which is just as well, as Wycliffe is clearly Frost for the clinically depressed.
