@tsunimee @michelledh For starters, you made me run Windows on my Mac. I feel dirty.

via Echofon in reply to tsunimee

@KaveyF @ahnlak @jacintuk @marklesuk On the downside, browser is roughly on a par with Casio calculator watch. But I like my Kindle anyway.

via Echofon in reply to Kavey

@KaveyF @ahnlak @jacintuk @marklesuk I have done extensive research *and* checked my email from a taverna in Crete to make sure.

via Echofon

@KaveyF @ahnlak @jacintuk @marklesuk …all 3G features of Kindle have worked same at home and overseas since its release. Honest.

via Echofon in reply to Kavey

@KaveyF @ahnlak @jacintuk @marklesuk Yes. Browser is “experimental feature”, so could change at any time, but…

via Echofon in reply to Kavey

@KaveyF @jacintuk @marklesuk @ahnlak Er, what do you mean, won’t get browser?

via Echofon in reply to Kavey

@michelledh @tsunimee @hooker1uk Yup, if I switch to old Twitter, I get the problem too. Guess their custom colours don’t work with it.

via Echofon in reply to michelledh

@michelledh @tsunimee @hooker1uk There we go. Was just about to say, looks like old Twitter — can tell because first tweet is big.

via Echofon in reply to michelledh

@michelledh @tsunimee If you can’t see it (a) What happens if you press Ctrl+F5 on the page? (b) What antivirus software are you running?

via Echofon in reply to michelledh

@michelledh @tsunimee Dunno. So, where it’s not working, which bits can’t you see (working screenshot attached!) http://twitpic.com/5xcp8f

via Echofon in reply to michelledh

@tsunimee @michelledh Works fine for me in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE7 and IE8. (Can you tell I test web pages a lot?)

via Echofon in reply to tsunimee

@jacintuk *grin* Thing is, I did research it fairly thoroughly… http://gothick.org.uk/20…

via Echofon in reply to jacintuk

@jacintuk @marklesuk @KaveyF The 3G is completely free abroad, in my experience, and according to Amazon.

via Echofon in reply to jacintuk

@marklesuk …but it’s a pretty awesome selling point for the 3G, considering it’s only £40 more.

via Echofon in reply to marklesuk

@marklesuk Given the crapness of the browser, and lack of video capability, I don’t imagine it’s a _lot_ of data they’re using.

via Echofon in reply to marklesuk

@marklesuk Not that the browser’s a great experience, mind. But the data is free, in 100 countries.

via Echofon in reply to marklesuk

@marklesuk No it doesn’t. Downloaded books & browsed for free in at least three countries now. http://amzn.to/mZEZcA

via Echofon in reply to marklesuk

@baratunde “…force them to watch me place contacts into my Google+ circles?” Hah!

via Echofon in reply to baratunde

@floyduk You try that, meanwhile I’m going to see if I can find some info in A Particular Place.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Oh. Well, that’s odd, because that’s exactly what I did last Thursday.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Seem to remember the feature appeared specifically with magic/mighty mice. Have you got one you could try with?

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Incidentally, what did you use it for? I’m tempted to turn it off now I’ve found it.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Bah. Well, that’s broken, then. You’ll just have to buy a new everything.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@librarythingtim I played with doing that to my technical blog entries, as a visual indicator of how out-of-date the information was.

via Echofon in reply to librarythingtim

@marklesuk Not abroad it can’t. Not for free, anyway :)

via Echofon in reply to marklesuk

@floyduk Try changing it to Cmd and see if that works?

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Ah. Erm. Well, I’m at a loss, then. Works fine on the Air and the iMac for me. Er. Have you tried turning it off and… *ducks*

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Aha! System Prefs->Universal Access->Seeing. Under “Options” in Zoom panel, I have “Use scroll wheel with modifier…” set to Cmd.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Here’s freaky: searching System Prefs for “zoom” finds “mouse zoom” under “Mouse” — where I have nothing because I have no mouse.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk It’s Command for me. Maybe it varies depending on the hardware.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Erm. Well, how you’d expect. I hold down Command, and scroll, using the normal two-finger scrolling gesture.

via Echofon in reply to floyduk

@floyduk Although, to be fair, I appear to be able to zoom pages with Cmd+scroll *and* drag scrollbars with my Trackpad. Whassup?

So, summarising my responses, it would be appropriate, yet unwise, to watch _Inception_ when I might drift off to sleep. Ta.

via Echofon

Hmm. _Inception_ has just arrived from LoveFilm. How awake do I have to be to watch it?

via Echofon

SHUT UP SEAGULL.

@hayles I am officially too hot for coffee. I bought two bottles of Gem on the way home :D

via Echofon in reply to hayles

@BristolBites That sounds like that kind of crazy plan that might involve me staying in the office for an extra millisecond.

via Echofon in reply to BristolBites

@hayles A friend of mine will be working there. Remember that evening I drank about fourteen free lattes because someone was practising? :)

via Echofon in reply to hayles

Yay! Bonus lift up Park Street from the boss. Glad of that one today.

@hayles Your aircon’s broken? SADFACE. Our current problem? The sewage is broken. We have all been told not to use the loo. CROSSEDLEGSFACE.

@LaraSee Ooh, that’s even factier. My green tea makes no more scientific claims than this, by the way. :) http://lockerz.com/s/124…

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to LaraSee

@LaraSee Well, I’m drinking green tea right now, and I don’t have the flu. Case closed. It’s clearly a Fact.

@seengee (Incidentally, latest Chrome 14 seems to have disappeared the Full Screen button, so I guess they’re working on it.)

via Echofon in reply to robjmills

@ilovetypography Oooh, is there something non-Flash that supports uploading multiple files in one operation now?

via Echofon in reply to ilovetypography

@jonhickman I’m actually liking it on the desktop, mostly. Do still need to add a few things to the dictionary, though.

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to jonhickman

@seengee Browser. Each app has to implement Full Screen to have it. Firefox hasn’t, Chrome has faked it, badly. So far…

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to robjmills

@callumchapman Haven’t tried it yet… (And it’s already blocked at work!)

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to callumchapman

@Phooto They’ve been round here for ages; from what I remember they’re just around the harbour from me…

@madeupstats: It is estimated that a quarter of life’s pleasurable moments involve cheese in some capacity.” <— Figure sounds low to me…

@Phooto On the plus side, you can’t be castigated for phone hacking if you make up all your stories without even picking up a phone.

via Tweetbot for iOS in reply to Phooto

@Phooto I’m sure that the unnamed “source” there, quoting an unnamed “they”, is very reliable on medical facts.
